With this listing you will receive (1) Unsexed Haplochromis SP Ruby Green Fry, .5-1". The Ruby Green Hap is a captive bred Lake Victorian Cichlid. They will grow to roughly 3-5" in length and are not aggressive. We recommend keeping them with other Victorian cichlids that are roughly the same size. This fish is NOT a Flameback cichlid. When a single male is kept in a tank without any females or males present, they will usually NOT color up. Adding an additional male will cause the dominant male to stay in full breeding color all the time. These fish are mouthbrooding herbivores and need a consistent spirulina type diet. They enjoy sand as a substrate as they like to dig and also love caves and rockwork. These fish are bred in Arizona water at a PH of 7.8-8.0 with a high hardness level. They will also eat algae directly off of plants. The health and well being of our fish are top priority, during winter months we ship via UPS Next Day Air only to ensure all fish arrive safely to their new homes. We use breather bags and add ammonia absorbing poly filter in a well insulated box with heat packs (as needed.) Shipping is $19.95 flat rate (1-3 day) USPS throughout the continental United States.
