Description:

Natural Range: Taiwan

Estimated Size at Shipping: 1.5-2" give or take a bit

Max Size: 6.5"

Sold unsexed

Overview: Taiwan's answer to the hill trout. The males grow get yellow and red fins and a striped pattern along their bodies.

Setup Considerations: These guys like flow and need space to swim. A four foot tank is nice, but a six footer would be very much appreciated.

Specific Care Requirements: They're subtropical, so prefer their water on the cooler side.

Diet: Predatory omnivore. In the wild they eat insects, crustaceans, small fish, algae, and detritus. They're eating pellets, flakes, brine shrimp, and bloodworms for us. They're not picky.
