Overview:
One of the prettiest nano-fish out there, these fish sport a vagrant blue which is hard to beat. Originally from blackwater peat swamps, these are quite delicate when first imported, but adapt very well to life in the aquarium given time.
These fish come from still waters in nature and don't like to fight strong currents. A filter with low flow, such as a sponge filter, seems to work well.
These are peaceful fish and will be stressed out by boisterous tank mates. They will appreciate decorations and/or plants which provide places of retreat, especially for the first few weeks as they are settling into a new aquarium.
Rasboras tend to stay small and are great for nano tanks. They're known for their peaceful natures and amazing color. They do best in large groups of their own kind.
Setup Considerations:
Rasboras are an ideal candidate for planted, community tanks. They're very peaceful and don't bother other fish.
Diet: Carnivore
These fish eat very small critters in the wild. Ours don't like flakes, pellets, or other prepared foods, preferring live and frozen fare.
Rasboras have small mouths, so nano pellets and crushed flakes are great foods. Supplementing with live foods like microworms and baby brine is always suggested.
Shipping: Live arrival guaranteed. More fish available as of this posting. We are happy to combine shipping on orders.
