One or more live Java fern plant, 3 inches or larger

Live Java fern - Microsorum pteropus

Java Fern is an extremely tough and resilient aquatic plant, food for beginner or low-tech tanks. It will grow in most water conditions, soft, hard, acid, or alkaline and does not require high light. It is a great plant for blackwater tanks.

It grows fairly slow in most tanks, producing long pointed dark green leaves that extend from a rhizome and root ball. The rhizome should not be buried, but instead attached to rock or wood with a bit of thread. In time it will attach itself to the structure and continue to grow. It has a unique form of propagation, where small new Java fern plants form at the tips or on any damaged portions of the leaves. These new plants can then be removed and relocated.

*Note on pests*: I remove bladder snails and duckweed any time I see them in my fish room. They should not be present on any plants I ship (or own). But be it weeks or months between sightings, like a bad case of herpes they seem to show up unexpectedly. I recommend you rinse and inspect any plants (including these) before placing in your tank as an extra preventative measure.

All livestock has been bred and raised in my fish room. No fresh imports, and none of the "bonus" pests and diseases that come with fresh imports.

I only ship to addresses within the continental US at this time.

I ship Live goods on Mondays and Tuesdays - your lot will be shipped the first Monday or Tuesday after payment is received.
